9mm Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P
Note on expansions. I took the largest measurement I could find for each bullet. I wish there were an easy way to measure the surface area of the bullet nose. I think that would be a much more useful measurement especially with rounds like this. Sure, they expand dramatically, but there is a lot of space in between the petals.
The data:
Penetration was 7.5" +/- 1/2"
From top down, rounds expanded to +/- .01" :
.74"
.72"
.72"
.69"
.77"
.71"
.74"
.71"
.65"
Really neat! I finally know why they call these "Gold Dots"! _________________ Dan |

Good to go...a Glock 19 is what I carry and 124 gr.+P Gold Dots myself. _________________ Glock 19/Kel-Tec P32/FM HiPower/PT111Pro for me...when I can't get to the Remington 870s/Norinco98 or my Marlin 336. |

sdan,
excellent test! Very similar results compared to my test 2 years ago. The most significant thing about your test is that it confirms that the WetPack test method is reliable for ammo testing. There is a rule in any testing method that for the method to be accepted it must be repeatable by others. You are certainly proving that.
Now I wish others would do some wetpack tests on some of the same ammo we've already tried and post the results.
